Play Report: Assassins Creed 3

Image
I decided to go ahead and continue with Assassins Creed 3. I figured since I finished all the other entries I might as well tie this one up also. So I spent hours last night playing after my son went to bed. After investing all those hours, all I unlocked was 2 achievements.  There is allot though I learned that would have helped me during the campaign. General Stores are a thing. I don't know whether this is my own fault or if the developers just didn't make this emphasized allot. I was buying all my supplies from the horse and carriage vendors. Had no idea i could change outfits and upgrade weapons. Last night I decided to complete all the liberation missions, and get all my assassins. Well in New York during the missions to unlock a new assassin, it acts as a tutorial that shows you what all you can actually do with your assassins. Lure people out, acts as a decoy convoy that would put you into restricted areas easily, and even set up ambush areas. All of this wou

EA Offering Online Passes and DLC Free

Image
Well this is weird for me and I'm actually scratching my head at the moment, but it seems like EA are trying to turn over a new leaf. They have marked allot of DLC and online passes to Free on XBOX Live. I figured it was some kind of glitch, so I'm downloading it all, and is only for XBOX Live at the moment (no word on whether or not this will be coming to PSN) American McGees Alice - This is the full game but you have to have Alice Returns Disk to play it Battlefield Bad Company 2 VIP - Probably just online and other perks Bulletstorm Online Pass - The online has always free so this is just online perks Dragon Age Origins Stone Prisoner DLC - Extra quests and character, includes achievements Dragon Age 2 Black Emporium DLC - Bonus Items and shop Kingdom of Amalur Online Pass - Extra quest and arena stuff Mass Effect 2 Cerberus Network - Extra quest, character, achievements Medal of Honor Online Pass - Online Multi player SHIFT 2 Unleashed Onli

The Beast has been Slayed- FIFA 06: RTFWC

Image
It may not seem much like an accomplishment to most, but to me its a completion that's haunted me for awhile. Having a supposed "EASY" uncompleted on my card always looked bad. Ever since Eric completed way back when he would purposely bring it up from time. Our conversations would go something like this: ME: Hey I completed Halo Reach on Legendary Solo, super excited about it. Eric: Cool, What about that Fifa 06? So after my rant yesterday about this game, I decided to looks at the controls, thinking I had to be missing something. Well I was quite a bit, the left trigger puts your team and yourself into an attack like mode when trying to score so that they would go after goals.  I also learned that the reason my kicks sucked was because I was holding sprint while shooting, causing a hop kick that would only go a few feet. This all helped, but it still wasn't easy. I had to quite out to the dash a couple 15- 20 times to avoid losing games, and restart th

Kryptonite Found - FIFA 06: Road to the FIFA World Cup

Image
I officially hate soccer games. Ive never been a huge soccer fan, mind you, but I have played some of the more arcade like games, but never actually dived into the sport. Well FIFA 06: RTFWC has officially killed me. Its my kryptonite. I started the game back in 2008, and it kicked my ass then. Well 5 years later and things are no different. I think the reason its so difficult to me is because I don't have any idea what I'm doing. Soccer is as alien to me as reading kanji. I'm playing the game on amateur at that. If I have the ball and I move into position to score, the ball is instantly stolen. So I tried putting a sniper scope on the ball and shooting it long range, which is a guaranteed miss every time. I have tried just standing there and still the ball gets taken. I don't think I can compete this game. This is my incompletely it seems, the one unobtainable. Worst part is, its on the 5 hour completable list. Its a supposed easy game. Easy for those who l

The Morning After: XBOX One

Image
Waking up from a information hangover due to yesterdays reveal, and I felt kinda bad about the rant I did on last night special podcast entry. But was I too haste in my judgement? This is the morning after. Ive had time to sleep and let go of all the info that upset me yesterday. Time to revisit the XBOX One. I have came to accept that yesterdays reveal wasn't for us as gamers, it was for general consumers. People looking for the best, newest technology to date (not gaming perspective). This conference was pandered to those customers that have to have the newest gadgets. From us gamers, its all about the games. Yesterday, we didn't get to see a whole lot to help ease our minds. What we know officially: 1. XBOX One is a media machine. Used to integrate all your entertainment applications into one box. The XBOX One interfaces with all of your current media applications, cable, satellite, you name it. Look at it as a Media Center PC in one big box. Its controls an

Windows Phone gets some Love

Image
First and foremost, Id like to apologize for not posting anything new here as of late. During the nice weather months I tend to enjoy the weather a bit more than staying inside. Secondly, Windows Phone users (like myself) are finally getting some love. There is a few titles and discounts id like to highlight for everyone. Free Games Angry Birds - Free - WP8 - Rovio has officially released a version of Angry Birds for the WP8. The achievements seem easier but be warned there is a glitch after 5 hours of play that crashes the game, and it can no longer be played (without a uninstall and reinstall anyway), that removes all your progress.. My guess is Rovio will patch this (since the price raises after the 15th of this month). Monster Burner - Free - I don't know too much about this game, but heck free is free. Ice Age Village - Free - ***SEE MONSTER BURNER DESCRIPTION*** Price Drops DaVinci Pinball - .99 cents - I noticed this yesterday, Just a pinball game, but h

Doritos Crash Course Removed from Marketplace

Image
Out with the old in with the new.  Looks like that is the policy that has been taken with the Doritos Crash Course franchise. Yesterday all of us (Gold members anyway) were treated to Doritos Crash Course 2 for free, the sequel to the 2010 entry. But upon the arrival of its younger sibling, Doritos Crash Course has been put out to pasture and terminated from the marketplace. This seems odd to me because a new DLC pack was just released for big brother this year (the DLC is still on the marketplace for anyone who hasn't bought it yet). For all those people who didn't finish the original achievements before starting the DLC and now have glitched achievements, time to abandon hope for a patch. ***RIP*** Doritos Crash Course, you brought me many frustrated moments during your life.
